Solid qualifying rounds earn a first round bye in TGA event:

Page Belcher Golf Course hosted the annual TGA four ball event. Qualifying rounds were played on a warm, beautiful, windless Friday afternoon. Because of some recent rainfall, Tournament Director, George Glenn put the “lift, clean and place” rule in effect. Generally, when you give players of this caliber a chance to put their hand on the ball, you can expect some low scores. The unusually calm spring day left Stone Creek almost defenseless. Fearing record scores, George opted to not cut the greens. It was a brilliant move as the slower conditions (7 on the Stimpmeter) frustrated the area’s top players.
