Kevin Joyce was raised in Tulsa, Ok and is the offspring of one of the most famous legal titans the city has ever known. His privileged upbringing and early sense of entitlement has shaped his entire life. Reportedly, in grade school he would force his teachers to mirandize him before he would answer a single question.
After high school, in a fit of rebellion, Kevin chose to pursue a horticulture degree at the University of Colorado. Ultimately though, the prodigal son summoned his birthright, and returned to Tulsa to attend law school. At law school, and after much deliberation, Kevin decided to major in nepotism and minor in rules violations. It was then that he turned his attention to golf.
Kevin attacked the rules of golf with a voracity not seen since the likes of Old Tom Morris. While others simply acquiesced, Kevin learned to ask one simple question…”why”
You must play the ball as it lies…”Why”
You can’t hit a Pinnacle from the rough, when you hit a Titleist from the tee… “Why”
You can’t drag five footers… “Why”
Famously, one rainy Saturday, Kevin piped a drive on Gardeniaville’s par 5, first hole, invoked the casual water rule to the front edge, then used a little known aerated green, gimme-putt multiplier to record his first double eagle. Another time, Kevin somehow awarded himself a “sandy” after making a double bogey.
Kevin’s hobbies extend beyond the links. He is an avid fisherman and has even been featured on the cover of Pine Island Lodge Magazine. Kevin is also the founding member of the “I hate CrossFit” fan club and the inventor of the CrossFit Dance.
In 2009, Kevin set a record for most pro bono hours, since he wasn’t in the office enough to charge anyone for anything.
